Another TV pack from me and another HBO show, its the “Band of Brothers” 10 episode mini series. I guess the HBO slogan “It’s Not TV. It’s HBO.” is pretty accurate since so many of their show tend to stand apart from normal TV shows. Band of Brothers is a 10 part World War II miniseries based on the book of the same title written by historian and biographer Stephen Ambrose. Band of Brothers was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks after their successful filming of the Academy Award winning World War II film Saving Private Ryan. Band of Brothers tells the story of how men are trained for combat, how they fight their battles, and are in turn affected by them. We learn some aspects of their personalities and background, but these are secondary to the grim reality of their shared journey of courage and pain. Band of Brothers is the most expensive television miniseries ever made by HBO or any other television network.The budget was approximately $125 million, which comes to an average of $12.5 million per episode and an additional $15 million was allocated towards the promotional campaign. The series was nominated for 19 Emmy Awards and won 6.
This 10-part HBO television miniseries focuses on Easy Company, a group of American soldiers in World War II, tracking their experiences from the beginning of boot camp to the end of the war. Anchored by actors Damian Lewis and Ron Livingston, the series gives detailed attention to their experiences as a group, as well as the way that each of them develops individually
