Manabu Makime's best selling novel now becomes a movie following a television adaptation for his "Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi". The story, set in Kyoto, is a supernatural coming-of-age comedy about a group of college students which includes Takayuki Yamada (the love-sick nerd in Densha Otoko) as Akira Abe, Chiaki Kuriyama and Sei Ashina, as students who are involved in a mysterious club called “Kyoto University Azure Dragon”, playing a mysterious game known as "Horumo" that started over 1,000 years ago in the Heian period. They compete using their ability to manipulate shikigami (a type of spirit), which are referred to as "oni." Their participation only awakens the spirits as they wage fierce battles amongst themselves against the backdrop of the breathtaking beautiful city of Kyoto.
