Icon12 Yup it is illegal!!!

It is illegal, but the chances of you being caught are slim.

Most of the people who get busted for doing this get caught because they were selling the ripped copies (esp over the internet). Also, if your house gets raided for stolen good sor drugs, they can bust you if they notice the ripped DVDs.

Let me caution you against trying to sell burned DVDs either where you live or, especially, on eBay or other auction sites. A local pinhead was selling homemade DVDs through an auction site (and I can't remember if it was eBay or one of its competitors). He was eventually arrested by the F.B.I. and is now serving six months in a federal prison. Obviously, selling an illegal product on a very public site is what led to his downfall, but I understand that he also cursed the F.B.I. agents who arrested him and said things to a federal judge that he should not have. I think he was lucky to only get six months.

Caution is advised, and there is a lot to be said for not breaking the law.

But at the end of the day who cares....i personally don't lol.....

Over here in The Netherlands you only pay a financial penalty if you get busted with lots of ripped DVD's or games.
