Why do makers of laptop DVD players restrict the...
...number of times you can change the region they're set to? My housemate's laptop DVD player won't let her change the region that it's set to anymore; after 5 changes, that's it. She has traveled a lot and made those changes, but now she's stuck with a DVD player that won't play any more disks. It doesn't look like there's anything that can be done about this. Why are they made with such a stupid restriction?
