as a general rule you need to do 3 things with Pro-e
you have to edit the lic.dat file by inputting the 12 digit hex MAC address from you lan card or mobo chip EVERY place it says "your host ID" with the correct single space after - you delete the "your host ID" text first

in XP> start/run ipconfig_/all

you have to run the ProE patch (crk.exe) in the install main directory

you have to run the lic config and make sure it points to the place (path) where you have placed the lic.dat file. So you make the lic first, put it in some directory, and during install or after, browse to it.
