LoadRunner version 5.0 contains enhancements in the following areas:

Enhanced Analysis Tools

LoadRunner 5.0 provides three new tools for helping to pinpoint performance problems and improve the efficiency of your applications. Each of these tools is integrated into the LoadRunner Controller and off-line Analysis.

Transaction Breakdown

This tool gives detailed information about the components that make up the transaction time to help to determine the cause of slow response time for Oracle servers. The transaction time components include network or client delays or the Oracle database server machine's CPU performance, I/O delays or database locking.

Online Server Resource Monitoring

LoadRunner now provides online monitoring of remote machine resources from the LoadRunner Controller. This tool is useful for determining what caused a bottleneck on a particular machine. You can monitor the resources on an NT machine or UNIX machine.

Network Monitoring

You can use LoadRunner's Network monitoring feature to check performance of a network path, allowing you to determine which network segment is causing delays.

TestDirector Integration

The Controller, VuGen and Analysis are integrated with TestDirector, Mercury's test management tool. TestDirector helps you organize and manage all scripts, scenarios and results using a database repository. If you experience problems connecting to the TestDirector server, refer to the latest TestDirector readme file.

Updated Protocol Support

LoadRunner 5.0 supports the following new protocol versions: ODBC 3.0, Oracle 8.0, TUXEDO 6.3, TUXEDO 6.4 (support for backward compatibility only) and WinSocket 2.0 (support for backward compatibility only).

New Protocols

LoadRunner 5.0 supports replay of DCOM Visual Basic Virtual User scripts and full recording and replay of Informix, Baan applications and Java applets and applications.
