Step 1:
Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 1000×900 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a white color. On the tools palette set your foreground color to #FFEBC7 color shade and set the background color to #C5D1E0 color shade. Now select the Gradient Tool and on the options palette choose linear gradient. Then apply a gradient effect on your canvas.

Step 2:
Now Create a Colorful Header or download the PSD and insert into your canvas.

Step 3:
Create a new layer and draw a large white rectangle with 960×621 px dimensions, this will be the body of the template. Connect the white rectangle with your header.

Step 4:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow blending option to the large white rectangle layer.


Step 5:
Create a new layer set and name it ‘Content Box’. In a new layer draw a rectangle with 522×29 px dimensions and #C3D1E1 color shade just below your header space. This rectangle will hold the title of your content box.

Step 6:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your light purple rectangle layer.






Step 7:
Select your Horizontal Type Tool and above your screen under the options palette set the font family to Verdana, bold, 12 pt, none and #4C5F75 color shade. In a new text layer type the title of your first content box.

Step 8:
Create a new layer, below your content title draw a rectangle with 522 x 164 px dimensions and #FFE5C7 color shade. Make sure you leave some white space between your title box and the content box.

Step 9:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option to your content rectangle layer.


Step 10:
Add some content plus post information such as author, date etc.

Step 11:
Add more content box below each other.

Step 12:
Now add your sidebar content using the same design from the content boxes. Here we added a sidebar section for Latest Comments and Fresh Content.



Step 13:
Add a Rectangle Advertisement spot below your sidebar sections.

Step 14:
Next to your Sidebar make use of the white space for a couple of125 x 125 advertisement banners.


Step 15:
Outside your large white rectangle add a simple footer design with your navigation links.

That’s it your done.
