Title :: How to create a Text Reflection Effect Difficulty :: Easy Time Required :: 5-10 minutes (depending on skill and speed) Software used :: Adobe Photoshop CS 2 ======================================== Step 1 ===== Open up a canvas for working. It could range from anything between (400x120) for a sig or anything larger for a banner for instance. Step 2 ===== Color the bg and do all the picture effects you want. I am going to use a simple one color background just to simplify things in this tutorial. Step 3 ===== Click on the Text tool (shown on the pic below) and click on the area of the canvas that you want your text to be. Type in your text and change the color of the text to your liking. ![]() Step 4 ===== You should now have some thing like this. ![]() Step 5 ===== Copy the text later by dragging the layer which has the words that you typed on your canvas to the New Layer button (shown in the pic below. ![]() Step 6 ==== You should have something that looks like this. ![]() Step 7 ===== Go to the "Edit" menu, and select the Flip Vertical effect (Shown in the pic below) to flip your Copied Text Layer vertically. ![]() Step 8 ===== Then click the "Move Tool" (Shown in the pic below) and move the flipped text to your desired distance from the main text. ![]() Step 9 ===== You should have something that looks like this. ![]() Step 10 ===== Click on the Opacity button ( Shown in the pic below) to adjust how clear/visible you want the reflection to be by dragging the slider that appears. (Lower percentage means less visible). ![]() Step 11 ===== You should have something that looks like this. ![]() Step 12 ===== Go to the "Edit" Menu again and locate the Scale effect (Shown in the pic below). This is to scale the size of your reflection. ![]() Step 13 ===== When you click on it, you should see a scalable box appear around your reflection text (Shown in pic below). Scale it too your preference. ![]() Step 14 ===== Voila, you are pretty much done. Your final result should look similar to this. ![]() NOTE :: You can also play around with other effect on the "Edit" --> "Transform" Menu. Here is some examples of other effect on that same menu. "Rotate Effect" ========== ![]() "Skew Effect" ========= ![]() NOTE :: You can use multiple effect on the same layer. Tweak it to your liking.
